Welcome to all all who receive and read this newsletter! We are grateful to God because it has finally happened! The infamous Supreme Court Ruling of 1973, Roe vs. Wade has been overturned! It was the correct ruling, stating that our US Constitution, as written does not address the issue of abortion and therefore this issue goes back to the individual States of the USA to determine if abortion is permitted in their State! The overturning of Roe vs. Wade brings the battle of the Right to Life to our State Government, the Governor, and ultimately the people of Pennsylvania. Our Challenge Continues!
When I was a student nurse at in residence at the Altoona Hospital, I would wake up in the morning to a program on the radio called “The Christophers”. The Christophers is an organization that was founded in 1945 by Father James Keller to inspire all believers of every faith through the radio. The Radio show came on the air with a song verse that said, “If everyone lit just one little candle, what a bright world this would be!” That’s what we are called to do today! We must light the candle of truth and share it with everyone we can. The Bible states “No one lights a candle and puts it under a bushel basket”(Mark 4:21). The truth that, human life begins at fertilization; it is unique, it is living and growing and it the way we all started our life! We are designed by God the Creator , made in his image. He loves us, and has a plan for each and every one of us and wants us to grow into the fullness of being! No one has the right to end that life! Jesus says “I am the way, the Truth and the Life” (John 14:6). Let us be determined to share His truth with everyone and stand-up for “Life”.
