In 2023, there were 35,412 abortions performed in Pennsylvania. White (15,822) and Black or African-American (15,474) individuals accounted in almost equal measure for more than 88 percent of abortions. Abortions to individuals of Hispanic origin accounted for 12.8 percent (4,517). More than 87 percent (31,018) of the abortions performed in Pennsylvania in 2023 were to unmarried individuals. Nearly all abortions in 2023 (32,798 or 92.6%) were performed in the first 14 weeks of pregnancy.
